Label cutting and die cutting systems: everything you need to know

Automatic Digital Sheet Cutting and Creasing System

The I-Mark range of digital sheet die cutters has become the ideal solution for traditional, digital printers and screen printers, for the creation of labels, stickers, shapes and cardboard boxes. Thanks to its sales success, I-Mark's renewed 2020 range consists of three models: I-Mark 35x50 Base (Die-cutter only), I-Mark 35x50 Die Cutter & Creaser and I-Mark 50x70 Die Cutter & Creaser.

All I-Mark models quickly and precisely perform half cutting on adhesive materials and through cutting on cardboard up to 350 g. The through cut automatically leaves attachments so that the work does not detach from the support. The I-Mark models equipped with the creasing function can be used for automatic creasing, which is very practical in creating prototypes, mock-ups or small runs of cardboard packages and boxes.

The machine is equipped with an automatic feeding system that allows about 80 sheets to be inserted into the feed compartment, with the possibility of adding others during processing without stopping the machine. A vacuum suction system takes the sheets from the magazine to be inserted into the cutting unit. The system is equipped with an internal vacuum compressor and does not require external air connections.

The alignment is carried out by reading the crosses for each sheet. A camera recognizes crosses in a few tenths of a second. The working speed of I-Mark varies with the complexity of the outline, but it averages around 30-40 seconds per sheet. The accuracy achieved is very high (0.2 mm).

The square crosses of only 4mm allow almost the entire use of the sheet with minimal waste (about 15 mm remain unused on each side of the sheet). The dimensions of the sheets that can be used range from A3 format to 50x70cm (or 35x50cm depending on the version).

The supplied I-Mark Software allows you to use graphic files created in Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw and connect to a computer with any version of Windows. Through the separate use of layers in Illustrator or Corel Draw, it becomes very easy to create the cutting path file to be exported to be immediately used by the I-Mark management software.

The machine is supplied with the dedicated I-Mark digital cutting software, which has been designed to be able to cut labels and allows you to import graphic files in AI and EPS format. The graphic must be combined with two reference marks. The dedicated camera combined with the software reads the references and adapts the cutting position. The software works with the operating system Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10.

In summary, the I-Mark range of digital sheet die cutters is a reliable and highly productive solution for the production of labels, stickers, shapes and cardboard boxes. The I-Mark models quickly and precisely perform half cutting on adhesive materials and through cutting on cardboard up to 350 g. The automatic creasing function is very practical when creating prototypes, mock-ups or small runs of cardboard packages and boxes. The machine is equipped with an automatic feeding system that allows about 80 sheets to be inserted into the feed compartment, with the possibility of adding others during processing
